In addition to tigers, the deep gorges serve
as hideouts for leopards, sloth bear, sambar, and‘Chital' or spotted deer.
It prefers hunting large ungulates such as Chital, sambar, gaur,
and to a lesser extent also barasingha, water buffalo, nilgai, serow and takin.
At present 4 tigers are kept in Tiger Safari,
106 Herbivore are kept in Herbivore Safari which includes Chital, Sambhar, Blue bull, Barking Deer and Blackbucks.

The tiger usually hunts by night and preys on a variety of animals,
but it prefers fairly large prey such as deer(sambar, Chital, and swamp deer) and wild pigs.
