Even the ancient Greek philosopher Xenophanes wrote about her in his writings.
For reference, Xenophanes was born only a few decades after Thales died
and Heraclitus was a teenager upon Thales' death;
It was this which gained for him the admiration of Xenophanes and Herodotus and the notice of Heraclitus and Democritus'(D.L. I.23).
It isn't clear, however, how Diogenes knew the prediction of the solar
eclipse is what earned Thales the“admiration” of Xenophanes and the“notice” of Heraclitus.
He is reported to have been a student of Xenophanes, a teacher of Zeno of Elea, and a major thinker of the Eleatic school.
Thales questioned the notion of anthropomorphic gods and Xenophanes refused to recognize the gods of his time and
reserved the divine for the principle of unity in the universe.
