If you think it's fame and money, you're not alone- but,
according to psychiatrist Robert Waldinger in this TED talk, you're mistaken.
Last year, Dr. Waldinger provided timers to about 500 couples in five different countries,
and asked them to time themselves having sex.
As the director of a 75 year study on adult development, Waldinger shares the data found on true happiness and satisfaction.
Dr. Robert J. Waldinger, the current director of the study, has shared the findings of this study in a TED talk recorded in Nov 2015.
Waldinger's meta analysis shows that the use of these conventional
antidepressants increasing IELT from two to ninefold above base line in comparison of three to eightfold when is used.
Waldinger, a clinical psychologist,
has established that relationships with spouses(friends too, but spouses were emphasized) protects you against chronic disease, mental illness, and memory loss well into your 80s!
The surprising finding is that our relationships and how happy we are in our relationships has a
powerful influence on our health,” said Robert Waldinger, director of the study,
a psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital and a professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.
