Vinoba replied,“What use is government help until
we can help ourselves?”.
Vinoba often used to say that the real India resides in villages.
During November 1982, Vinoba Bhave fell gravely ill
and determined to end his life.
Vinoba's religious outlook was very broad
and it synthesized the truths of many religions.
He joined Vinoba Bhave in Bhoodan Movement
and travelled 6000 kilometres between 1955 and 1958.
He was an active member of Bhoodan Movement which was started by Vinoba Bhave.
But if there was a fan, this man would have felt that Vinoba is not spiritual.
And somehow Vinoba is also agreeing with this type of attitude--
that Vinoba's seven hours every day are not important.
They told Vinoba they had no choice but to support the Communists,
because only the Communists would give them land.

If I was chosen, or before me Shri Vinoba Bhave was chosen for this purpose, it was not to
give expression to our individual views.
Vinoba Bhave once said in the 1950s that the way
we have embraced the western model of development, don't know where this consumerist culture will take us.
In 1940 Vinoba was chosen by Gandhi to be the first Individual Satyagrahi(an Individual standing up
for Truth instead of a collective action) against the British rule.
Independently, activists Vinoba Bhave
and Jayaprakash Narayan worked for peaceful land redistribution under the Sarvodaya movement, where landlords granted land to farm workers out of their own free will.
The much celebrated“cattle protection” is among those three principles that Vinoba added, but in his writings,
Gandhi made it clear that“it is the very opposite of religious conduct to kill a Muslim to save a cow”.
