Provide eight pre-programmed Photoperiods for different applications.
Photoperiod- the relationship between the length of light and dark in a 24-hour period.
If your dKH does decrease,
then we have proved that the Photoperiod wasn't long enough.
No timer is included but
inexpensive appliance timers can be used to control the Photoperiod.
Photoperiod length- the number of hours of light and dark given in
a 24 hour period.
Photoperiod distribution- how the hours of light
and dark are distributed throughout a 24 hour period.
If the later is the case, increase your Photoperiod to 12 hours and repeat the above test.
Start with 50% power to the white LEDs and
increase by one hour per week until your desired Photoperiod is reached.
For aquarists with little reef keeping experience,
the Atlantik features eight pre-programmed Photoperiods with varying spectrums
and intensities for different types of corals and/or applications.
One major hint is the length of each day, or the Photoperiod, which is determined by assessing the levels of melatonin in the body.
To meet these needs a plant is able to interpret important endogenous and environmental cues such
as changes in levels of plant hormones and seasonable temperature and Photoperiod changes.
If you are using an aquarium controller or our new Atlantik which has dimming and full programming capabilities, start with 50% power to the white LEDs and
increase by one hour per week until your desired Photoperiod is reached.
