He argued that only those whose religion emanated in India could be Indian citizens, thus marking Christians,
Muslims, Parsees and Jews as“outsiders.”.
At a time when every small sect lived within itself, he threw wide the net of his friendship, and he brought them all together when he entertained all his multi- religious and multi-
racial friends Christians, Parsees, Arabs and Englishmen.
As to the advantages the Mohammedans will gain by joining the Congress,
they will gain the same advantages as the Hindus, the Parsees, or Christians and that it is the duty of all people who call India their motherland,
to unite together for the purpose of promoting the common good of all, irrespective of the distinction of caste, colour or creed.
