Then David said,"I
will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father showed kindness to me.".
And, about a month afterward, it happened that Nahash the Ammonite ascended and began to fight against Jabesh Gilead.
It happened after this, that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon died,
and his son reigned in his place.
Now it came to pass after this, that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon died,
and his son reigned in his stead.
Then Nahash the Ammonite came up, and encamped against Jabesh Gilead: and
all the men of Jabesh said to Nahash,"Make a covenant with us, and we will serve you.
Then Nahash the Ammonite came up, and encamped against Jabesh-gilead: and all
the men of Jabesh said unto Nahash, Make a covenant with us, and we will serve thee.
When you saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you,
you said to me,'No, but a king shall reign over us;' when Yahweh your God was your king.
Nahash the Ammonite said to them,"On this condition I will make it with you, that
all your right eyes be put out; and I will lay it for a reproach on all Israel.
And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this condition will I make a covenant with
you, that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it for a reproach upon all Israel.
And Nahash the Ammonite answered them, On this condition will I make a covenant with you,
that I may thrust out all your right eyes, and lay it for a reproach upon all Israel.
And when ye saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you,
ye said unto me, Nay; but a king shall reign over us: when the LORD your God was your king.
