madyan in A Sentence

    1

    As though they had never dwelt in them; now surely perdition overtook Madyan as had perished Samood!

    As well as those of Madyan and Musa(too) was rejected, but I gave respite to the unbelievers, then did I overtake them, so how(severe) was My disapproval.

    And We sent towards Madyan, their fellowman Shuaib- he therefore said,“O my people! Worship Allah, and anticipate the Last Day, and do not roam the earth spreading turmoil.”.

    And unto Madyan We sent their brother, Shu'aib. He said: my people! worship Allah, and fear the Last Day, and commit not evil on the earth as corrupters.

    SHAKIR: And when he came to the water of Madyan, he found on it a group of men watering, and he found besides them two women keeping back(their flocks).

    And to Madyan[We sent] their brother Shu'ayb, and he said,"O my people, worship Allah and expect the Last Day and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption.

    And to Madyan(We sent) their brother Shuaib, so he said: O my people! serve Allah and fear the latter day and do not act corruptly in the land, making mischief.

    To the Madyan(people)(We sent) their brother Shu'aib. Then he said:"O my people! serve Allah, and fear the Last Day: nor commit evil on the earth, with intent to do mischief.

    But We produced[many] generations[after Moses], and prolonged was their duration. And you were not a resident among the people of Madyan, reciting to them Our verses, but We were senders of this message.

    However, We created generations and ages passed by upon them; and nor were you dwelling with the people of Madyan reciting Our verses to them- however it is We Who made the Noble Messengers.

    But We brought forth generations, and prolonged unto them was life; nor wast thou a dweller among the people of Madyan, reciting unto them Our revelations; but it is We who were to send.

    But We raised up(new) generations, and long were the ages that passed over them; but thou wast not a dweller among the people of Madyan, rehearsing Our Signs to them; but it is We Who send messengers with inspiration.

    And to Madyan(We sent) their brother Shu'aib. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than He, and do not give short measure and weight: surely I see you in prosperity and surely I fear for you the punishment of an all-encompassing day.

    And to Madyan(We sent) their brother Shu'aib. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than He, and do not give short measure and weight: surely I see you in prosperity and surely I fear for you the punishment of an all-encompassing day.

    And to Madyan their fellow man Shuaib; he said,“O my people! Worship Allah- there is no other True God except Him; and do not make reductions in measure and weight- indeed I see you prosperous, and I fear the punishment of the Besieging Day(of Resurrection) upon you.”.

    And to Madyan their fellow man Shuaib; he said,“O my people! Worship Allah- there is no other True God except Him; and do not make reductions in measure and weight- indeed I see you prosperous, and I fear the punishment of the Besieging Day(of Resurrection) upon you.”.

    And to Madyan[We sent] their brother Shu'ayb. He said,"O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. And do not decrease from the measure and the scale. Indeed, I see you in prosperity, but indeed, I fear for you the punishment of an all-encompassing Day.

    And when he came to the well of Madyan, he found there a crowd of people watering[their flocks], and he found aside from them two women driving back[their flocks]. He said,"What is your circumstance?" They said,"We do not water until the shepherds dispatch[their flocks]; and our father is an old man.

    To the Madyan People(We sent) Shu'aib, one of their own brethren: he said:"O my people! worship Allah: Ye have no other god but Him. And give not short measure or weight: I see you in prosperity, but I fear for you the penalty of a day that will compass(you) all round.

    And when he arrived at the water of Madyan, he found there a community of the people watering. And he found, apart from them, two women keeping back their flocks. He said: what aileth you twain! The twain said: we water not until the shepherds have driven away their flocks; and our father is a very old man.

    And when he came to the water of Madyan, he found on it a group of men watering, and he found besides them two women keeping back(their flocks). He said: What is the matter with you? They said: We cannot water until the shepherds take away(their sheep) from the water, and our father is a very old man.

    Did not the news of those before them reach them- the people of Nooh, and the A'ad, and the Thamud- the people of Ibrahim, the people of Madyan and the dwellings that were overturned? Their Noble Messengers had brought clear proofs to them; so it did not befit Allah's Majesty to oppress them, but in fact they wronged themselves.

    And when he came to the water of Madyan he found a group of men, watering their animals; and away from them he found two women restraining their animals; he said,“What is the matter with you?” They said,“We do not water our animals till all the shepherds water and take away their animals; and our father is very old.”.

    And unto Madyan We sent their brother Shu'aib. He said: O my people! worship Allah, no god ye have buthe; surely there hath come unto you an evidence from your Lord. So give full measure and weight, and defraud not people of their things, and act not corruptly on the earth after the ordering thereof; thatis best for you if ye be believers.

    And to Madyan(We sent) their brother Shu'aib. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; clear proof indeed has come to you from your Lord, therefore give full measure and weight and do not diminish to men their things, and do not make mischief in the land after its reform; this is better for you if you are believers.

    And to[the people of] Madyan[We sent] their brother Shu'ayb. He said,"O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. There has come to you clear evidence from your Lord. So fulfill the measure and weight and do not deprive people of their due and cause not corruption upon the earth after its reformation. That is better for you, if you should be believers.

    And We sent Shuaib to Madyan from their community; he said,“O my people! Worship Allah- you do not have any God except Him; indeed a clear proof has come to you from your Lord, so measure and weigh in full and do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not spread turmoil in the earth after it is organised; this is for your good, if you believe.”.

    And We favored you when your sister went and said,'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a[severe] trial. And you remained[some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came[here] at the decreed time, O Moses.

    When your sister went, then said,‘Shall I show you the people who may nurse him?' And We brought you back to your mother in order to soothe her eyes and that she may not grieve; and you killed a man, so We freed you from sorrow, and tested you to the maximum; you therefore stayed for several years among the people of Madyan; then you came(here) at an appointed time, O Moosa.”.

    When your sister went and said: Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve and you killed a man, then We delivered you from the grief, and We tried you with(a severe) trying. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan; then you came hither as ordained, O Musa.
