Some speculate that Kerioth refers to a region in Judea, but it
is also the name of two known Judean towns.
And upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab,

His surname, Iscariot, tells us the town that he came from, ish(“man”) of Kerioth, a small town in the south of Judea,
the area around the capital city of Jerusalem.
