They had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.
So who was this man, Barabbas?
They say they want Barabbas.
And they answer‘Barabbas.'.
And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.
They chose to save Barabbas and said to persecute Jesus.
The crowd clamored for Barabbas. - Luke 23: 5- 19.
But the chief priests and
elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.
Then they all cried out repeatedly, saying:“Not this one, but Barabbas.” Now Barabbas was a robber.
But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.
There was one called Barabbas, bound with those who had made insurrection,
men who in the insurrection had committed murder.
Pilate then gave them a choice between Jesus and a notorious insurrectionist and murderer by the name of Barabbas.
Wishing to satisfy the throng, Pilate released Barabbas, had Jesus whipped, and
handed him over to be impaled. - Mark 15: 1- 15.
So when they had assembled, Pilate said to them,“Which
one do you want me to release to you,(Jesus) Barabbas, or Jesus called Messiah?”?
Then Pilate, wishing to satisfy the people, released Barabbas to them, and he delivered Jesus, having severely scourged him, to be crucified.
And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him,
who had committed murder in the insurrection.
Therefore when they were gathered together,
Pilate said unto them,“Whom will ye that I release unto you: Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”?
Then, in response, the procurator said to them,“Which of the two do you want to be
released to you?” But they said to him,“Barabbas.”.
Therefore, when they were gathered together,
Pilate said unto them,“Whom do you want me to release unto you; Barabbas or Jesus who is called Christ?
So after they had gathered,
Pilate said to them,‘Whom do you want me to release for you, Barabbas or Jesus who is called the Messiah?'?
So after they had gathered, Pilate said to them,‘Whom do you
want me to release for you, Jesus* Barabbas or Jesus who is called the Messiah?'?
So after they had gathered, Pilate said to them,“Whom do you want
me to release for you, Jesus[b] Barabbas or Jesus who is called the Messiah?
This included Judas,“ the chief priests and the entire Sanhedrin,” and
even“ the crowds” that were persuaded to ask for the release of Barabbas. -
Matt. 26: 59- 65; 27: 1, 2, 20- 22.
That Barabbas was certainly more than a simple thief
is clear from Luke 23: 19, which states that he“ had been thrown into prison for a certain sedition occurring in the city and for murder.”.
