Zacchaeus was seeking to see who Jesus was.
Zacchaeus wanted to see who Jesus was.
That day salvation came to Zacchaeus's house.
Zacchaeus comes down and.
Zacchaeus received his guest“ with rejoicing.”.
Zacchaeus, come down at once.
It says in the text that Zacchaeus received Jesus.
Did Zacchaeus' conscience trouble him over his unrighteous actions?
Zacchaeus had just believed and the Lord acknowledged his salvation.
But Zacchaeus did not remain a criminal.
- Luke 19: 1- 8.
In the New Testament, we have the wonderful example of Zacchaeus in Luke 19.
There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.
Many sinners were transformed by His words of life- Zacchaeus being a prime example(Luke 19:1- 10).
Imagine how Zacchaeus felt when Jesus told him:“ This day salvation has
come to this house!” - Luke 19: 9.
The only example I
can find in the Bible is the conversion of Zacchaeus given in the nineteenth chapter of Luke.
Zacchaeus(Luke 19),
the sinful woman in Simon's house(Luke 7), the paralytic in Galilee(Luke 5)- all of them were forgiven by the Lord.
He was at home with little children in their innocence
and strangely enough at home too with conscience- stricken grafters like Zacchaeus.
Zacchaeus's repentance and faith in Christ made him a true son of Abraham,
who is the father of all who have faith(Romans 4:11).
Impressed by Zacchaeus' intense interest, Jesus told him that he
would visit him in his home. Zacchaeus gladly extended hospitality to his distinguished guest.
Zacchaeus raced ahead of the crowd gathered around Jesus and
because of his small stature sought a vantage point by climbing a fig- mulberry tree.
I think the conversion of Zacchaeus shows that some people, a small number,
repent of their sins without the usual tears that accompany most awakenings.
Thus Zacchaeus righted the wrong he had committed and went even further, proving
the sincerity of his changed way of living. - 2 Corinthians 7: 11.
Being of short stature, he climbed a tree to see Jesus. What a surprise when
Jesus said that he would stay at the house of Zacchaeus!
When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him,"Zacchaeus, hurry and come down; for I must stay at your house today.".
And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw
him, and said,‘Zacchaeus, make haste, come down; for today I must abide at thy house.'”.
Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord,‘Look,
half of my possessions, Lord I will give to the poor; and if I have defrauded anyone of anything!
Yet Zacchaeus promised Christ he would give half
of his wealth to the poor, and that he would give everyone he robbed four times what he had taken.
As a result,
reputedly corrupt tax collectors such as Matthew and Zacchaeus gave up their former life-
style. - Matthew 4: 17; 9: 9- 13; Luke 19: 1- 10.
When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him,
and said to him,"Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.
When Jesus“came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him,‘Zacchaeus, make haste,
and come down; for today I must abide at thy house.'.
