Tychicus- A Trusted Fellow Slave.
Now Tychicus was going back to Asia.
Tychicus is one such early Christian.
Tychicus was with him, hundreds of miles from home.
Paul considered himself a“brother” and“fellow servant” with Tychicus(Colossians 4:7).
ON VARIOUS occasions, Tychicus traveled with the apostle Paul and acted as his messenger.
Paul described Tychicus as his“ beloved brother
and faithful minister and fellow slave in the Lord.”.
Tychicus, who was from the district of Asia, played a role in the relief mission.
When I send Artemas to you, or Tychicus, be diligent to come to me to Nicopolis,
for I have determined to winter there.
Colossians 4:7 Tychicus, a beloved brother, faithful minister, and fellow servant in the Lord, will tell you all the news about me.
On this journey back to Colossae, apparently Onesimus and Tychicus were entrusted with three of Paul's letters, now
included in the Bible canon.
When I shall send Artemas unto thee, or Tychicus, be diligent to come unto me to Nicopolis:
for I have determined there to winter.
Tychicus,(AL) the dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord,
will tell you everything, so that you also may know how I am and what I am doing.
Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord,
will tell you everything, so that you also may know how I am and what I am doing.
If Paul was thinking of sending him on responsible and perhaps difficult missions in place of Timothy and Titus,
it is apparent that Tychicus had become a mature Christian overseer.
Final Greetings 21 Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord,
will tell you everything, so that you also may know how I am and what I am doing.
