When the temperature of the body rises above normal i.e. above 100.4°F or 38°C, this is considered as fever,
controlled hyperthermia or Pyrexia.
Pyrexia in adults often suggests an invasive organism as the cause,
although many other illnesses can induce fever and diarrhoea, especially in children who generally are febrile with any type of infective gastroenteritis.
