Now Strato, after a period of study at the Lyceum,
was hired by Ptolemy to tutor his son Ptolemy II Philadelphus(as he became known) in Alexandria.
Prior to the LXX, bad translations abounded, so to remedy the problem,
Ptolemy Philadelphus arranged for 70 scholars(hence the name)
fluent in both Greek and Hebrew to prepare a proper translation.
