    Because the pill contains only small doses of mifepristone, it causes few or no side effects in most women.

    Mifepristone and Misoprostol, also known as RU-486, can be used up to nine weeks gestation.

    Mifepristone is given orally, followed by Misoprostol tablets given orally or inserted vaginally during the second office visit 36 to 48 hours later.
