Joly's project greatly increased the interior space of the building,
adding three new salons now the Salons Delacroix, Casimir-Pierier, Abel-de-Pujol.
To give this entrance greater prominence, Joly constructed a neoclassical portico with four Corinthian columns,
modeled after the ancient Roman temple of Jupiter Stator.
