Captain"Baba" Harbhajan Singh(30 August 1946-
4 October 1968)[1] was an Indian army soldier.

In his debut match for Essex against Gloucestershire, Harbhajan did not take any wicket on 12 July 2012,
conceding 33 runs in his 12 overs.
On 14 May, the BCCI disciplinary committee found Harbhajan guilty under Rule 3.2.1 of their regulations
and handed down the maximum punishment of five-match ban from ODIs.
After being omitted for the
Sahara Cup series against Pakistan in Toronto, Harbhajan played in a weakened Indian team at the 1998
Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Following the appeal, Harbhajan played in all eight of India's round-robin
matches in the Commonwealth Bank series, which also involved Sri Lanka, taking five wickets at 39.00.
Growing up with five sisters, Harbhajan was in line to inherit the family business,
but his father insisted that he concentrate on his cricket career and represent India.
