What basis for hope did Habakkuk have?
That was the resolve of God's prophet Habakkuk.
Habakkuk 2:7 Will not your creditors rise up suddenly?
Habakkuk therefore has some thought- provoking questions in mind.
Let us therefore give further attention to Habakkuk's prophecy.
Habakkuk 1:1 The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see.
Habakkuk 1:3- Why do you make me look at injustice?
Habakkuk 2:19 Woe to him that said to the wood, Awake;
Habakkuk 1:4 So the law is paralyzed,
and justice never goes forth.
Did Jehovah scold the faithful prophet Habakkuk for asking such questions?

Jehovah's] dignity covered the heavens; and with his praise the earth became filled.
According to Habakkuk 3: 14,
15, what will happen to Jehovah's people and to their enemies?
Hence, God's prophet Habakkuk was divinely inspired to say:“ Law grows numb,
and justice never goes forth.
Habakkuk 3:15 You trampled on the sea with Your horses, on the surge of many waters.:.
Habakkuk 3:15 You did walk through the sea with your horses,
through the heap of great waters.
Jehovah the Sovereign Lord is my vital energy.” - Habakkuk 3: 18, 19; Matthew 5: 11, 12.
