Some of the espresso drinks unique to Luxembourg include a"lait Russe", or"Russian Milk", which is essentially a latte,
or a"cafe gourmand", a type of espresso drink originating
in French that is intended to be served with a dessert.
In a tradition first described by famed French gourmand Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin,
ortolan is eaten while diners cover their faces with large napkins, both to contain the aroma of the meal and“to shield- from God's eyes- the shame of such a decadent and disgraceful act.”.
