Buckmaster, who is 71 years old,
credits a dog named Buster Brown with inspiring the shelter to give chairs to dogs.
By April of 2000, there were nine Craigslist employees working out of Newmark's San Francisco apartment,
including Jim Buckmaster who joined the company in January of 2000 as lead programmer and CTO-
chief technology officer.
In December 2006, at the UBS Global Media Conference in New York,
Craigslist CEO Jim Buckmaster told Wall Street analysts that Craigslist
has little interest in maximizing profit, instead preferring to help users find cars, apartments, jobs, and dates.
