Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel.
Bethuel willingly cooperated with Abraham's servant,
son of Bethuel the Syrian, Rebekah's brother,
And Bethuel begat Rebekah:
Bethuel became the father of Rebekah.
son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah,
How did Bethuel, Joseph, and Ruth exercise their loving- kindness?
Bethuel willingly cooperated with Abraham's servant, and so did Rebekah.
And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.
In order to continue his family line, Abraham needed Bethuel's cooperation.
Did you notice how Bethuel, Joseph, and Ruth expressed their loving- kindness?
In what ways was loving- kindness exercised by Bethuel, Joseph, and Ruth?
Go to Paddan Aram, to the house of Bethuel your mother's father.
and said,'Whose daughter are you?' She said,'The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son,
And Bethuel begat Rebekah: these eight Milcah did bear to Nahor, Abraham's brother.
Bethuel became the father of Rebekah. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham's brother.
Bethuel, Joseph, and Ruth showed loving-
kindness willingly; they were moved to do so from within.
Would Bethuel be willing to do the same by allowing Rebekah to go with Abraham's servant?
Then Laban and Bethuel answered,"The thing proceeds from Yahweh.
We can't speak to you bad or good.
She said to him,"I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, whom she bore to Nahor.
heartfelt recounting of the incident would convince Bethuel and his son Laban that Jehovah was behind this mission.
What makes the loving- kindness of Bethuel, Joseph, and Ruth especially meaningful,
and what moved them to display this quality?
Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said,
The thing proceedeth from the LORD: we cannot speak unto thee bad or good.
And she said unto him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, which she bare unto Nahor.
Isaac sent Jacob away. He
went to Paddan Aram to Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, Rebekah's brother, Jacob's and Esau's mother.
Who, when he was forty years old, took Rebekah, the
sister of Laban, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian from Mesopotamia, as a wife.
Shortly thereafter, the young woman identified herself as“ the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, whom she bore to[ Abraham's brother] Nahor.”.
Go to Paddan Aram, to the house of Bethuel your mother's father.
Take a wife from there from the daughters of Laban, your mother's brother.
The servant no doubt hoped that his
heartfelt recounting of the incident would convince Bethuel and his son Laban that Jehovah was behind this mission.
And Isaac sent away Jacob: and he went to Padan-aram unto Laban,
son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob's and Esau's mother.
