An accident in the work place, developing cancer or Asbestosis from toxic exposures, trauma from a serious motor
vehicle accident, injury caused by a defective product, complications from a medical procedure.
Studies have shown that exposure to
asbestos may cause lung cancer, Asbestosis, which causes the lungs to become scarred,
and mesothelioma, a cancer in the abdominal cavity and lining of the chest.
Having established the existence of Asbestosis on a medical and judicial basis,
the report resulted in the first Asbestos Industry Regulations being published in 1931, which came into effect on 1 March 1932.
