Jehovah was there uncovering the sin of Achan.
Finally, the household of Achan was exposed.
Like Cain, Achan had developed a bad heart.
Achan was found guilty of transgressing the covenant.
Achan did not admit to his theft until he was exposed.
Achan's theft was not a minor offense -
it led to serious consequences.
God always means what He says when He commands something. But Achan didn't take Him seriously.
Achan's wrongdoing‘ brought ostracism upon him,'
and both he and members of his family were stoned to death.
Coveting what should have been destroyed or
turned in, he stole from God, and that cost Achan his life.
Achan answered Joshua, and said,"I have
truly sinned against Yahweh, the God of Israel, and this is what I have done.
When Achan son of Zerah was unfaithful in regard to the devoted things,
did not wrath come on the whole community of Israel?
Achan along with his wife and children were viewed,
or spoken of, as part of the household( or, family) of Zabdi, Achan's grandfather.
And Achan answered Joshua,
and said, Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done.
For Achan, the son of Carmi,
the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, from the tribe of Judah, took something from what was anathema.
Achan:"What do I see under the rubble of Jericho?
A wonderful Babylonian coat! Gold and silver! I can't just leave it there. No one will see me take it.".
And he brought his household man by man; and Achan, the son of Carmi,
the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was taken.
He brought near his household man by man, and Achan, the son of Carmi,
the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was selected.
