The approval meeting
was headed by the Chief Minister of Mizoram Zoramthanga.
Following the results, Zoramthanga had said,“I had predicted we will
win anywhere between 25-30 seats.
Zoramthanga was a close aide of Laldenga
and took charge of the MNF after Laldenga's death in 1990.
Chief Minister of the state Zoramthanga planted saplings at the premises of the Assam Rifles headquarters in Aizawl.
Zoramthanga expressed hope that with assistance from the Centre,
Mizoram, that has a high potential for growth, will have the highest Gross State Domestic Product(GSDP) in the country.
