Melito of Sardis - Defender of Bible Truths?

Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.
Melito of Sardis was of a similar mind. Who was Melito?
His uncle, Sardis became a father figure for most of his life.
and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
And to those in Sardis he said:“ He that conquers will thus be
But you have a few names in Sardis who have not defiled their garments.
The Jews of Sardis, where Melito lived, observed the Hebrew Passover on Nisan 14.
Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes.

Saying," What you see, write in a book and send to the seven assemblies: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum,
Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.
According to this letter, Melito - Bishop of Sardis, in Lydia- was one of those who supported
Nisan 14 as the date to be observed.
Accordingly, Jesus encouraged those in Sardis - and by extension all who would later read his words- to prove
their first love for Christian truth and to be awake spiritually. Each of us can ask himself:.
And to those in Sardis he said:“ He that conquers will thus be
