The important transmitters of human diseases are the mosquitoes, Sandflies( Phlebotomus),
house- flies, fleshflies, eyeflies, head and body lice, rat fleas, etc.
Among the insect- borne diseases of man the most important are the malarial and yellow fevers, sleeping sickness, filariasis, bubonic plague, typhus, typhoid,
cholera, dysentery, diarrhoea, myasis, oriental sore, sandfly fever and other tropical diseases.
