Rifampin and isoniazid combination may cause blood problems.
The drugs include isoniazid, Rifampin, pyrazinamide, streptomycin, and ethambutol.
In situations where Rifampin cannot be used, sometimes
another drug, rifabutin, may be substituted.
Rifampin, phenytoin, carbamazepine,
and phenobarbital increase the metabolism of diazepam, thus decreasing drug levels and effects.
The urine can turn red in some people after eating beetroot and also after taking some medications,
for example the antibiotic Rifampin.
Patients taking Rifampin(RIF) or rifapentine(RPT)
should be informed that they will notice an orange discoloration of urine and possibly other body fluids.
