Then the Proconsul[anthypatos], when he saw what was done,

Many have proved themselves people of principle, such as the Proconsul Sergius Paulus who is described in the Bible
as“ an intelligent man.”.
Who was with the Proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of
understanding. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul, and sought to hear the word of God.
Finally, the city recorder( who headed the municipal government)
said that the craftsmen could present their charges to a Proconsul, authorized to make judicial decisions,
or their case might be decided in“ a regular assembly” of citizens.
To illustrate: Because of what the apostle Paul said and did on the
island of Cyprus, the Roman Proconsul Sergius Paulus“ became a believer,
for he was astounded at the teaching of Jehovah.” - Read Acts 13: 6- 12.
