No government or court of law has ever convicted Kancha Ilaiah for abusing the Hindu religion.
Recently, Prof Kancha Ilaiah rightly pointed out that the Brahmins as a community have
not contributed anything to the production process of the Indian nation.
I thought the name Ilaiah Kancha sounded like the name of a world famous historian,
philosopher, thinker with whom no Indian thinker would match- Isaiah Berlin.
A Dalit activist, Ilaiah is often identified as being a Dalit himself in news reports,
although he was in fact born into an Other Backward Class community.
Ilaiah received an M.A. degree in political science and an M. Phil.,
awarded for his study of land reform in the south Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
Ilaiah earned a Ph. D on the basis of his work
exploring the political dimension of Buddhism, culminating in God as Political Philosopher- Buddha Challenge to Brahminism.
In an article published in The Indian Express in March 2018 in which he reviewed a book by Shashi Tharoor,
Dalit scholar Kancha Ilaiah Shepherd had claimed that Nehru had said these words.
