    No physical relationship must be made between husband and wife during the Iddat period.

    This period extends beyond Iddat as the woman retains control over her goods and properties.

    For those men who die amongst you and leave behind wives, they(the wives) must confine themselves(Spend Iddat) for four months and ten days.

    Now came the central government in action and passed the act which stated that maintenance to a divorced woman by her husband will only be given during the period of Iddat, or till 90 days after the divorce.
