Growing Hymenocallis in open ground.
Hymenocallis Caribbean(Hymenocallis caribaea)-
bulbous culture with large inflorescences of 6-12 flowers.
Flowers are directed to the sides or downwards(in real Hymenocallis, they always look up).
Hymenocallis broadleaf(Hymenocallis latifolia)-
bulbous herb with delicate flowers, reaches a height of almost 1 meter.
During the growing season and during flowering, feed Hymenocallis no more than once a week.
In fact, there are several reasons for this behavior of Hymenocallis, removing which you can resume flowering.
Seeds of Hymenocallis are grown rather difficult and long,
so that they germinate, they need to provide proper care.
The best place to grow Hymenocallis in a pot will be a sunny window on the south side.
During the growing season, Hymenocallis is suitable temperature 19-
21 ° С, after flowering, it should be reduced to 15- 17 ° С.
Do not forget about Hymenocallis and in the period of rest,
although at this time feeding is made no more than once a month.
Hymenocallis does not want to bloom-
it is possible that the plant's rest period was disturbed or the place for it was chosen with insufficient lighting.
During the growing season, Hymenocallis is grown at a temperature of 18 to 21 degrees Celsius,
and after flowering it is necessary to create cooler temperature conditions for the plant(from 5 to 15 degrees Celsius).
For Hymenocallis irrigation, only distilled water should be used
and the next watering should be carried out only after a slight drying of the top layer of the soil mixture in the pot with the plant.
In the last week of February, Hymenocallis is returned to a warm,
bright room again and begins to be watered with minimal volumes, gradually bringing to normal, the formation of leaf mass will begin in about a month.
