The classic picture of Gouty attack is painful when palpating,
red sometimes to blue, hot, swollen large(first) toe.
You could have Gouty arthritis, a type of joint disorder where
painful crystals form in the joint and cause disability.
Gouty tophi, in particular when not located in a
joint, can be mistaken for basal cell carcinoma or other neoplasms.
Painful Gouty knots and kidney stones are the result.
Normal values: Women: 2.5 to 5.9 mg/ dl blood; Men: 3.5 to 7.1 mg/ dl.
Almost half the time, the first Gouty attack becomes the last,
but in the remaining 50% of cases the course of the disease becomes chronic.
