Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon.
The king of Eglon, one; the king of Gezer, one;
So the Lord gave Eglon king of Moab power to defeat Israel.
How far could he run before Eglon's attendants discovered what had happened?
So the Lord gave King Eglon of Moab power to defeat the Israelites.
But if they did and Eglon could be killed, how would Ehud escape?
And the sons of Israel served Eglon, the king of Moab, for eighteen years.
Eglon oppressed the Israelites for the next 18 years,
evidently demanding a burdensome tax from them.
In time the sons of Israel sent tribute by his hand to Eglon the king of Moab.”.
After reaching“ the quarries that were at Gilgal,”
Ehud left his men and journeyed back to Eglon's palace.
So the Lord gave Eglon king of Moab power to defeat Israel because of the evil Israel did.
Joshua passed from Lachish, and all Israel with him, to Eglon; and they encamped against it fought against it.
Eglon was sitting in his roof chamber when
Ehud came to him and said:“ A word of God I have for you.”.
The inspired account continues:“ Ehud came to[ Eglon] as he was sitting in his cool roof chamber that he had to himself.
Just as he had done to Eglon, so also did he do to Hebron,
consuming with the sword all that he found within it.

and because they did this evil the Lord gave Eglon king of Moab power over Israel.
Therefore Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem sent to Hoham king of Hebron, to Piram king of
Jarmuth, to Japhia king of Lachish, and to Debir king of Eglon, saying.
Ehud bided his time. The brief visit with Eglon enabled him to become familiar with the layout of the palace
and to ascertain the extent of the king's security.
Wherefore Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem sent unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of
Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying.
And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD:
and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel,
because they had done evil in the sight of the LORD.
The children of Israel again did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh:
and Yahweh strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel,
because they had done that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh.
But when the children of Israel cried to Yahweh, Yahweh raised them up a savior, Ehud the son of Gera, the
Benjamite, a man left-handed. The children of Israel sent tribute by him to Eglon the king of Moab.
But when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded:
and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.
