Speak with your Physician about HPV vaccines such as Gardasil and Cervarix.
Cervarix, from Glaxo Smith Kline Beecham,
protects against two cancer causing HPV strains.
The HPV vaccine, sold under the trade names Gardasil and Cervarix, was first approved by the FDA in 2006.
Gardasil offers protection against all four types of HPV. In comparison, Cervarix only offers protection against two types of HPV.
Though there is no cure for HPV, timely Gardasil, Cervarix, or Gardasil 9 vaccination at 11 to 12
years can prevent the disease.
GlaxoSmithKline has developed a vaccine called Cervarix which has been shown to be 92%
effective in preventing HPV strains 16 and 18 and is effective for more than four years.
