in maintaining peace in the Northeast, the Assam Rifles, which had just about 750 men, proved its capability and efficiency.
Nagas did not accept the boundary delineation and demanded that Nagaland should comprise the erstwhile Naga Hills and
Naga dominated area in North Cachar and Nagaon districts, which were part of the Naga territory.
