The pain sometimes radiates to behind the Breastbone.
Occasionally, other large bones are used, such as the Breastbone(sternum).
Sometimes the Breastbone is pushed outwards so your chest
is more rounded.
If your Breastbone is pushed outwards(pectus carinatum)
this does not usually cause any problems.
More specifically, it comes from one or more of the joints between your ribs and your Breastbone(sternum).
The allergic form is manifested by persistent paroxysmal cough, expressed painful sensations in the pharynx and behind the Breastbone.
The most common sites of pain are close to the Breastbone(sternum), at the level of the 4th, 5th and 6th ribs.
Silent reflux is a condition in which stomach acid causes throat discomfort,
especially behind the Breastbone in the middle of the trunk.
Having a CABG means a long and painful recovery for the patient,
as it can take the Breastbone several months to completely heal.
If your Breastbone is pressed inwards(pectus excavatum), your lungs
and breathing may be affected and you may need to have surgery to correct this.
Also known as the lymphatic system,
this network of nodes and ducts is situated behind the Breastbone, as well as under the armpit and above the collarbone.
Put the heel of one hand placed on the sternum(it would be just below the nipples)
but we should not do at the end of the Breastbone to avoid damage.
Instead of splitting the Breastbone, a smaller incision-
typically about three to five inches in length- is made horizontally in the muscles between two ribs on the left side of the chest.
Tracheitis(tracheitis)- an inflammatory lesion of the mucosal trachea of a predominantly infectious nature, manifested by irritation of the epithelium, dry
paroxysmal coughing or with sputum discharge, pain behind the Breastbone, febrile temperature.
