Annakut, as its name suggests, means mountain of food.
Annakut preparation majorly comprise of dishes made
from cereals such as wheat, rice, green leafy vegetables, gram flour curry among others.
Similar to the festival of Diwali, during Annakut, the first three days are days of prayer,
which are done to sanctify wealth and invite greater prosperity into the family.
Annakut Puja is also an integral part
of Govardhan Puja where Chappan Bhog' is offered to Lord Krishna followed by Govardhan Aarti post which this'Annakut Prasad' is shared with the family and friends.
In Hindu families, elders of the family consider Annakut to be an auspicious time to teach children religious
and cultural values, and to ask for forgiveness from God while expressing devotion towards Him wholeheartedly.
He told that you should all worship the Annakut hill
or Govardhan Parbat as he is the real God who is nurturing and saving your lives from drastic conditions by giving you food and shelter.
