Have you considered yourself as capable of rising above what Chinua Achebe(the renowned Nigerian author)
observed as“the trouble with Nigeria”- Arising from a failure of leadership?
Achebe was unhappy with books about Africa written by British authors such as Joseph Conrad(1857- 1924) and John Buchan(1875-
1940), because he felt the descriptions of African people were inaccurate and insulting.
Raised by his parents in the Igbo town of Ogidi in southeastern Nigeria, Achebe excelled at school and won a scholarship to study medicine,
but changed his studies to English literature at University College(now the University of Ibadan).
